Privacy Policy
Last updated: 25 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how MUNE NUTRITION LTD ("Mune Guide", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use the Mune Guide mobile app, website at mune.guide, and related services (together, the "Services").
Controller: MUNE NUTRITION LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 17029447), with registered office at 20 Wenlock Road, London, N1 7GU, United Kingdom.
Questions or requests: support@muneguide.com.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, authentication credentials, and identifiers from Sign in with Apple or Google when you choose those options.
- Dietary profile: diet preferences, exclusions, custom ingredients you avoid, health conditions you choose to share, market (e.g. UK / US), preferred supermarket, and language settings — used to personalise product fit and recipes.
- Scan and product activity: barcodes you scan, photos of ingredients labels you submit for analysis, product lookups, saved products, saved recipes, and shopping lists.
- Website waitlist: email address if you join early access on our website.
- Usage and analytics: product events and an account identifier used to understand how the app is used (via PostHog). We configure this so diet, conditions, barcodes, and email are not sent as analytics properties. Session replay is off. We do not use advertising tracking for cross-app ads.
- Subscription status: if you subscribe to Mune Plus, Apple processes payment. We receive subscription/entitlement status via RevenueCat. We do not receive your full card details.
- Support communications: messages you send to us (e.g. feedback or help requests).
2. Health-related information
Information about diet, exclusions, and health conditions can be special category personal data under UK GDPR. We process it only to provide the Services you request — personalising product fit, recipes, and related features — and on the basis that you provide it voluntarily for that purpose. Mune Guide is not medical advice and is not a medical device. Always check physical product labels and seek clinical advice where needed.
3. How we use information
- Provide, personalise, and improve product scanning, fit scoring, recipes, and lists
- Create and manage your account and authentications
- Enforce free-tier scan quotas and Mune Plus entitlements
- Analyse product usage (via PostHog) to improve the Services
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Services
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations
- Operate the early-access waitlist if you opt in on the website
We do not sell your personal data.
4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)
Depending on the activity, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the Services you sign up for
- Legitimate interests — to secure, improve, and administer the Services in ways that do not override your rights
- Consent — where required (for example certain optional communications, or camera access on your device)
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information by law
5. Sharing and processors
We use trusted service providers to operate the Services, including:
- Hosting and authentication infrastructure (including Supabase)
- Subscription and entitlement management (RevenueCat) and Apple for App Store billing
- Product analytics (PostHog) — typically via PostHog's EU cloud ( eu.i.posthog.com)
- Product and nutrition data sources used to power lookups and catalogues
- Email or waitlist tooling if you join early access
Providers process data on our instructions and only as needed to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, or security.
6. International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we use appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations), where applicable.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, including account life, legal retention, and dispute resolution. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). That removes your profile and associated server data we control. Local data on your device can be removed by deleting the app. Some records may remain for a limited period in backups or where we must retain them by law.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). To exercise rights, email support@muneguide.com.
9. Children
The Services are not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
